Questions on
TWINNING @ RITHS
What is 'Twinning' program?
The student study first
part towards his Degree in an Indian institution and
study final part in the awarding British University,
this collaborative program
is called " Twinning Program". The
students pursue the first three years of a
Engineering degree program at RITHS, and the final year in the U.K.
First 3 years of
study in India is certified by the Indian
institution and the academic credit is
transferred to the British University for
studying final year.
Why Twinning
Course?
Education, perhaps more than any
other discipline or area of professional activity,
is global in its nature, scope and impact.
There is no need for education in India to be cut
off from cutting edge developments in the rest of
the world. Especially in Science and Engineering,
there is need to keep abreast of
progress.
This twinning program brings you
unique advantages that give you a substantial edge
in many respects: Education in a traditional
Indian environment combined with the latest
Educational Technology in developed countries.
-
Substantial cost savings: getting
a four-year foreign degree by spending only
One year abroad.
-
Flexibility in choosing and
changing the Engineering speciality, which is
not possible in India.
-
Wide range of Engineering branches
to choose from, many of which are not offered at
any institute in India.
-
Opportunity to learn in two
different cultural environments, and thus become
a well groomed professional.
-
Opportunity to pursue Master’s
degree programs at universities abroad.
-
Opportunity for paid internship
training and job placements.
Twinning Program
A major innovation in the higher
education pertaining to international studies in
India is the "Twinning Program" concept.
Students who successfully complete
such a twinning program are guaranteed transfer of
their credits to the foreign university. They can
then finish their Bachelor's degree in about one
year at the university as transfer student. Hence,
the term "3+1" is also used to describe twinning.
A similar working principle is provided for
Graduate programs too. Thereby, this gives the
benefit of understanding both the cultures.
Academic work at partner
institutions is transcripted by the foreign
partner. Faculty at partner institutions are
recruited, paid, and governed by the work rules of
those institutions. University sets standards for
hiring faculty who teach in the 3+1programs and
monitors their effectiveness during regular visits
and reviews of sample student work. Twinning has
proved to be a "win-win" arrangement. This
guaranteed a steady stream of well-prepared
students who have been instructed entirely in
English and are ready to begin their major
sequences as juniors.
Families of the University-bound
students save sixty six percent or more of the cost of
an overseas degree, partner institutions are
strengthened by access to the latest in British
curricular developments, and foreign countries
save precious hard currency. We feel this will
greatly mitigate the present difficulties being
faced by students and also aid a great deal in
reducing the overall costs of the program.
We welcome you to be a part of this
new wave, which is getting generated in India for
Twinning Program and to be a part of global
education revolution.
Why Studying in
England?
Simple..., More reputation, More
standards, More job prospects, Wide Recognition,
Easy Employability. After all England and America
is the final place to study, even IITians accept
it. It is the REAL FACT, but how many can afford?
That is the real question? Through this twinning
